Some of us at Ventura IT had this problem and we found a solution that worked for us. We can’t promise that it will work for you but give it a try. This should only be used on a PC running Ubuntu 18.04 LTS or 18.04.1 LTS. In our case, we tried it to install the Microsoft TTF (Microsoft True Type Fonts) in Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS and it worked! You can fix it by entering the following into a terminal window:
wget http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/contrib/m/msttcorefonts/ttf-mscorefonts-installer_3.6_all.deb
sudo dpkg -i ttf-mscorefonts-installer_3.6_all.deb
